For now we will be following USBC rules as far as allowed bowling balls. If it's banned in all certified competition, then it's banned at our events. If it is allowed at all during certified league competition, then it's allowed at our events, even if it's banned at USBC national competition.
Also we use USBC rules EXCEPT we do allow bowlers to switch hands if they wish to do so.
Youth bowlers are still allowed to compete in MSBS events. MSBS will continue sending any youth‑eligible earnings to the USBC SMART program for bowlers who wish to maintain their youth status. However, under the updated MHSAA rules, high school athletes are strongly advised not to participate in MSBS events until after they have completed their senior year of high school. This recommendation is to help athletes avoid any eligibility issues related to MHSAA amateurism regulations.
